QUICK ADDRESS

 A QUICK ADDRESS.

Side note: kindly read with an open mind. Read carefully to interpret the quoted words for better understanding.

A part of me wants to direct this piece to the "head boy" of "Ass-hole Roc", but eerm... Punching my phone to address a man many regard as a "bad boy", doesn't add up for me.

So I'll let that slide...

Albeit, I'm directing this piece, to a BROTHER — who I share same ethnic background and faith with...whom we thought will be the  "voice of the street", rather unfortunate became a backup singer of the "bad boys band".

Well, nothing is new, especially if you are conversant with history.

In view of the above, a slide into history reminds me of how a certain man known for his signatory "big goggle glasses" — nicked AWO did everything he possibly could to fight for the liberation of this "divided we stand" kwantry and the YORUBA heritage.

Awo known for his constant and continuous displeasure against the military regime allowed the 12 year ban on political parties to be  lifted in 1979. Whatever your perspective is, it was an opening for baba "Awo" to contest in 1979 and 1983 elections consecutively loosing to one Sheu Shagari...who like his successor was a "bad dancer". I'll just let it slide.

Awo retired from politics in 1983, but left a SEED.

Today, my quick address is expected to reach the SEED that came into being, and became a fulfilment in 2015 when Osinbajo was sworn in as the "First Yoruba" Vice President of FRN since 1999.

Being significant reminds me of secondary school when we were always taught about the "SIGNIFICANCE" of this and that... You'll agree with me, that as the First ever Yoruba VP in the fourth republic — was timely and SIGNIFICANT! Right?

Baba Awo studied LAW, Son in law studied Law and became a SAN, Grand daughter studied LAW — if we share same faith, that's another SIGNIFICANCE. Yea?

Here's is my worrying sign...

In "Christiandom", what a certain Chris Okotie couldn't do.

What a particular political unstable Tunde Bakare couldn't clinch in 2011.

The Osinbajo's were offered on a platter of gold in 2015! Isn't that still SIGNIFICANT? The heart desire of a dead man eventually granted.

Only if Awo himself could come so close to that "seat" I don't think he'll coward same way his  "son in law" and "grand daughter" cower... we never can tell tho. But atleast we are sure  baba was no COWARD.

Like them, I'm a Nigerian, a Christian, and a Yoruba by heritage — not just that, but also directly an indigene of Ogun State

So I can address as a brother...

Brother, I'll be flogging a dead horse if we begin to analyse the pain and sorrows the band you backup  for has caused us....

But I can categorically say — you've failed Brethren in faith, failed your heritage, failed your dead father in law and failed your brothers — past, present and future at home in Ogun State.

I used to think those who studied Law are activists by nature, even if I couldn't study this "law" within the four walls of an institution. The little I've acquired through personal study has been a SIGNIFICANT power surge for me.

I mean, anyone who plays MONOPOLY and CHESS will understand the twist and turns of LAW — the ideologies, concepts, manipulations, maneuvers, reservations and courage that comes with it. As stated by Aaron Burr — "Law is whatever that's boldly asserted, and plausibly maintained".

Anyway, let me just  excuse your failures and give you a WORD.

Sir, I can't tell if you're still in FAITH, if you're... I'll advise your madam DOLAPO (nee Awolowo) to reexamine and understudy the life of a certain Queen Esther from the scriptures...(I'm sure she remembers)

I'll also suggest you take a cue from a "devils advocate" former Vice President Atiku who soiled his feet in the North, wasn't silenced and pulp around under the OBJ administration.

You as a SAN, might need to reexamine the lifestyle of Gani Fawehinmi — a legal battler.

Finally, like a certain Mordecai once cried out to Esther to remember HOW and WHY she became Queen. Same way I raise this voice one last time.

You can decide to keep your arms fold and do nothing this perilous season.

But I promise, generations to come will remember your "acts" wether for good or bad.

I'll write and tell this stories in my area of influence, they'll also pass it down to their generations — that our tribe once had a man who was a supposed devoted man of FAITH, an assumed preacher of the Gospel in RCCG, a SAN married to a Lawyer, got to a significant position to stand in gap for us, but unfortunately joined the "bad boys band" as a backup singer... Later switched his MIC off, allowed darkness overshadow his God given light and got lost forever.

If by chance an extended family of yours sees this, then the pendulum hangs on  the neck of you and family forever.

If by chance you'll never  come across this piece, it'll be on record that a boy down street cried out but your band boys called it wailing!

Selah.
