WHO'S A CHRISTIAN!

Welcome to the continual series on WHO'S A CHRISTIAN!

From last week engagements, we've been able to establish a definition that best suits who a Christian is and should be.

For as many who are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. Rom 8:14 KJV.

We sighted just one example in the conversation that ensued between CHRIST himself and the innocent/ignorant Samaritan woman.

And CHRIST himself affirmed that:

"the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in SPIRIT and in TRUTH: for the Father seeketh such to worship HIM. God is a SPIRIT: and they that worship must worship him in SPIRIT and TRUTH".

In cap, you're out there claiming to be a CHRISTIAN...then it is expected that you're not of the FLESH but of the SPIRIT.

So straight on today's business... Since we have been able to establish who a CHRISTIAN is... Let us look at the life of a Christian! Maybe it is meant to be a sacrificial life, a rosy life or hardened one...we shall see.

But, before we forge on, we take a pause here. 🕒 

Be guided not join the bandwagons who believe they've given their LIFE to CHRIST!

For no man can give his/her life for CHRIST. 👇 

Instead, Christ himself gave up his life that we may be called CHRISTIANS...i.e his own.

In this manner, we are called by GRACE (undeserved kindness) to become HIS (Christ) and become heirs of the FATHER (God).

Take note that...the Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. According to Romans 8:15‭-‬17 NIV.

As Christians, maybe I say genuine ones... by default we have been given a SPIRIT as first promised by CHRIST to the disciples before his departure.

So there are basically 3 major factors derived from the HOLY SPIRIT that makes us who we are — Christians.

These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you... John 14:25‭-‬26 KJV

• LEAD
• GUIDE 
• TEACH 

So accordingly, a Christian is expected to live according to the LEADING, GUIDANCE and TEACHINGS of the HOLY Spirit. Anything outside that is a counterfeit...

Hence, by now a Christian should know there's a good understanding in the Holy Trinity, as the Holy Spirit does nothing of his own except what he's being sent.

In all, no one dares say he's a Christian except one who is being LED, GUIDED and THOUGHT by the SPIRIT.

For no man can say he's of Christ except by the Spirit of God.

The Thinker... 

DO YOU REALLY POSSESS THE SPIRIT OF GOD?

Run a quick check to confirm if you also can affirm — YOU'RE A CHRISTIAN!

In certain narratives, there are arguments of whether a Christian should suffer or not! Atleast a particular thought is of the belief that CHRIST has suffered and paid it all for us, so we are expected to live a good and rosy life.

I remember I have a friend who use to say "you can't fall sick and call yourself a CHRISTIAN". Personally, I take that as a conspiracy theory or a misconception of definitions.

The scriptures better explained in Romans 8:17...

And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

Are CHRISTIANS meant to share in the sufferings of CHRIST?

YES!...

That we may also share in his GLORY! 

Jesus said:

"Be of good cheer, for I've overcome the world for you."

 

What more can i say?...than to tow the words of CHRIST — any Christian out there reading this, who's probably facing one difficulty or the other.

We are not of this world, but sojourners in this world... taunted because we are not in conformity with the system of the world, we are here but not like them. Be of good cheer, for there's a GLORY ahead! 💪
